The problem with every other register

The Winmark POS closes the sale. Then the customer walks out and the loop is closed forever — no number, no receipt, no reason to return. Platos Wallet picks up where the sale ends. Text the receipt. Alert them on restocks. Send an offer. The sale at the counter starts a conversation that brings them back.

What it does

One stack. Three jobs the counter has always needed done.

Most stores are duct-taping a terminal, a texting app, and an email tool together and reconciling three logins at close. Platos Wallet is all three, tied to every sale.

Card processing

Tap, dip, or swipe on a Stripe smart reader at the counter. Instant approval, auto-capture, one-tap full and partial refunds. Payouts land in your store's own bank account — Platos Wallet never sits between you and your money.

Customer texting

Send text receipts, restock alerts, and offers from one number your shoppers recognize. Bring sellers back in to buy — without a separate messaging tool or subscription.

Email receipts + campaigns

Receipts go out automatically. Simple campaigns pull shoppers back into the store on their schedule. No marketing team required — one click from the counter.

How it works

Live at the counter. In a day.

No developer, no complicated installation. A reader on your network, a browser tab at the counter, and you're running card payments.

01

Plug in the reader

A WisePOS smart reader on your store's network, registered to your own standalone Stripe account. Payouts go to your store's bank — never to Platos Wallet.

02

Ring up the sale

Open the register in Chrome on the counter touchscreen. Key the total — or type it directly on the S700 reader. Tap Charge. The shopper taps their card. Approved.

03

Open the next visit

Text the receipt. A week later, send a restock alert or an offer. Sales from messaging are tracked back to the message — so you know what's working.

The other half of the business

The buy side is half your store. Most tools ignore it.

Plato's Closet doesn't just sell — it buys from the public all day. Platos Wallet tracks both sides: what you ring at the register and what you pay out at the counter, so you see contribution margin, take rate, and what's selling versus what's piling up.

  • Net sales and buy spend in one view
  • Take rate and contribution margin per period
  • Sell-through and category mix
  • Per-store leaderboard across every register

Who it's for

The Plato's Closet owners who get the most out of this

Single-store owners

You want a register that earns its keep — and a way to reach shoppers after they leave.

You run one location. The Winmark POS handles inventory but gives you nothing to work with after the sale. Platos Wallet adds the card reader and the messaging in one account — no new logins, no third-party tools to wrangle.

Multi-store operators

You run several locations and need clean per-store numbers from a single account.

One login. Every register at every store. Sales are tagged to the location and the lane so you can see which stores are hitting their numbers and which ones aren't — without reconciling separate terminals or exports.

Owners chasing repeat traffic

You know the business runs on repeat shoppers. You just don't have a tool to reach them.

Sellers who bring in inventory often come back to spend it. Platos Wallet texts them the receipt, alerts them when their category restocks, and sends offers on your schedule — from the same number every time, so they recognize it.

Straight answers

Questions owners ask before getting started

Do I have to replace my Winmark POS?

No. Platos Wallet runs alongside the Winmark system — the cashier reads the total off the Winmark screen and charges the card on the smart reader. You can also key the amount directly on the S700 reader if you prefer. Either way, the Winmark POS keeps handling inventory and compliance; Platos Wallet handles card payments and the messages that follow.

Whose bank account does the money land in?

Your store's. Each location gets its own standalone Stripe account under the store's business entity — own EIN, own bank account, own payouts. Revenue, refunds, and 1099-K reporting all stay with the store. Platos Wallet is never in the money flow.

Can I try it before any hardware arrives?

Yes. The demo runs on a simulated reader — you see the full ring, tap, approve, and text-receipt flow with no physical device. It looks and works exactly like the live register. When you're ready to go live, swap in your keys and plug in the reader.

Is this allowed under the Winmark franchise agreement?

That's a question you'll want to confirm in writing with Winmark. Typically Platos Wallet is used for ancillary sales and customer messaging alongside the primary Winmark POS — but franchisee obligations vary and it's your responsibility to verify what's permitted for your location before going live.
