Do I have to replace my current POS?

No. Most stores run Platos Wallet alongside their existing register — the cashier reads the total off the POS and charges the card on the Platos Wallet reader. You can also run Platos Wallet as the primary register if you'd rather. Either way, the card-payment step lives in our software, not the franchisor's POS.

What hardware do I need?

An internet-connected WisePOS smart reader (WisePOS E or Stripe Reader S700) on your store's network, plus any touchscreen — a small tablet, an iPad, or your counter PC — running the register in Chrome. The cashier rings the amount on the touchscreen; the reader collects the card.

Whose bank account does the money go to?

Your store's own account, under your own business (its own EIN and bank). Revenue, payouts, and refunds all stay with the store, and 1099-K reporting is attributed correctly. We never sit between you and your money.

How fast can I go live?

The software is ready today. Once your payments account is set up and a reader is registered, you can be taking cards the same day. We can demo the whole flow on a simulated reader first, with no hardware.

Can I try it without hardware?

Yes. We demo the entire register flow — ring an amount, activate the reader, tap, approve, receipt, refund — on a simulated reader so you can see exactly how it works before any device ships.

Can I refund a sale at the counter?

Yes — full or partial, in a couple of taps from the day's sales, back to the original card. No card-present step needed, and a double-tap can't double-charge or double-refund.

How do texting and email work?

Receipts, restock alerts, and offers go out from one number and one inbox your shoppers recognize — tied to the sales you ring, so you can bring sellers back to buy. Email receipts build your list automatically.

Is texting customers compliant?

Yes — opt-in and opt-out are handled, and customers control whether they hear from you by text. You stay on the right side of messaging rules without managing it by hand.

Can it handle multiple registers or lanes?

Yes. Each lane has its own reader; the register app lists your readers and you pick the one for that lane. One account can drive every register, and reporting rolls up per store.

Is my customers' card data secure?

Card processing is built on Stripe Terminal — the card data never touches your laptop or our servers, and PCI handling is Stripe's job. Payments are card-present, EMV-grade at the reader.

Can I see reports across multiple stores?

Yes. Every sale is stamped to its store and register, so one login gives you a per-store leaderboard plus net sales, buy spend, take rate, and sell-through across all your locations.

What does it cost?
